happy late thanksgiving! so really it was a normal day for us because here the hlidays are for your friend and neighbor and teacher or when ever they want but not for the day of thanks and turkey, maybe cuz its really expensive here. but it was a good day, i work up and my comp told me happy thanksgiving, and that was about it, haha. but still a good week.
so everyone bust out your cellphones and go to the tempeture converter, friday it was 40·C. then saturday and sunday it was couldy and rainy. but here there is alot of dirt and when its super hot and dry people throw water on the ground infront of there housese to prevent te dust from coming up. but when you walk over this patch of water its extra hot on your legs. so we were with a member and i asked her hey that is and she said, you know when you get a frying pan hot and then put water on it, it sizzles and its hot. hahah so she compared oran to a frying pan, we basically live in a desert. and it rocks!
infact we found a swet little friend in our house the other day and now i have a new pet, his name is "don morochito" he likes to kill spiders with this crazy stinger that he has on his tail and hold them in his claws while he eats them and we watch. thats right mom, i have a little scorpion friend, but dont be scared he is just a little guy and he lives in a tupper with the lid sealed tight. they are common here and we always check our shoes before we put them on. :)
this week we met jorge cabana. he is in his 20´s and his mom and a bunch of his siblings were baptised a year ago. he is just another evidence that this is not my work and really anything i do doesnt mater if its not guided by the Lord. jorge decided to go to church with his family with out prompting from anyone, then we ment him and asked if he wanted to talk to us and he said ok. we have taught him 2 and he came to church again yesterday. before when the elders were teaching his family he didnt feel right with them so he stopped listening, but he told our branch president that something about us that now he feels comfortable and he feels the Spirit, the peace ,joy and happiness that it talks about in galations 5 (?) but he feels it when he goes to church and he has never found that in anyother place in his life. which was amazing to me becasue this sunday i was stressed a little and thinking how noisey it was with all the little kids running around, but jorge felt the Spirit, so strong where it suprised him because he had neer felt it before. that helped me remember that this is our Father's church and His plan and He will make hapen what He has planned to happen, so many times we (I) worry about the little things and dont stop to just trust in the Lord and His plan, He knows what He is doing and He wouldnt just leave this work up to me and my comp, 2 girls in their 20´s who kind of speak spanish in a foreign country, that literally He is guiding us and His childern to where they need to be and nothing will change His plans, we just need to be ready to obey so we can help in the work.
hahah that kind of reminds me when i would help dad out with fixing something , i always wanted to do it my way but he just wanted me to be there to hold something or stick my arm down the hole cut it was smaler, but he knew what needed to be done, and it i wasnt there he could have found someone else to do it, but he asked me to , so i was there. i was the helper not the fixer, and he knew what needed to be done. i know its the same here in argentina, only on a much bigger scale, my Father in Heaven has asked me to be here and help Him, but its not my work and i cant see the big picture, i just help Him where He puts me. but im thankfull to be here and that He asked me to help.
all we need to do it love Him and trust that He knows what He´s doing. i love my Father in Heaven. and im tankfull for my parents.
friday we were talking with hermana gareca, she is 66 but i thought she was older, she is tiny sweet lady who has a had a hard life, but she asked me something so simple that hit me hard. she asked " do you have a mom?" i said yes, and then " do you have a dad?" and i said yes, then she turned to my comp and said "and you too?" all she said was " thats good, i didnt have parents" which was crazy to here but it made me think about what i see everyday and so many people here dont have both their parents, in all of the world its common right now, but it was something that just hit hard, and made me realise how blessed i am. i am thankfull for my family!
i love you all and i hope something in this very jumpled email could bring you joy.
con amor, hermana hanson
