Hola familia, ok so sorry i write so much, i wouldnt read my letters if i got them, they're super long! But thanks for your paitence. This week flew by. Ok this whole transfer flew by, but thts cuz ive been enjoying it :) we have been praying for families and we found a family, they are the neighbors of a member, the but members granddaughter who wants to be baptised invited their daughters to the mutuals and we met them there, and we jump on anyone knew and invite them to pray and be baptized ( hahaah) then started teaching them, but we had to talk to the parrents. The member talked to them first but they were totaly ok with it and now we are teaching all of them! Woohoo. A family of 5. A dad! ( very rare) a mom and 3 kids. The parents arent married and have fighting rooters, but they have accepted us showing up as a sign and answers to their prayers so they are willing to listen and make some changes. They really just want more unity and love in their home. Which is exacty what the gospel when applied with faith brings. The mom and the 2 girls came to church yesterday and a bunch of kids shared their testimonies ( which were super strong) and the mom loved it, she is afraid for her kids and wants the best for them and then she got to see how the gospel has helped kids from their own mouths. It was a good Sunday.
It is getting hot here! Woohoo, but we are trying to love it and just think of all the weight we could loose from sweat :) yesterday it was 34-38C we werent sure cuz everyone told us something different but that is about 102-110F i think [note from Kristin: it's actually 93-100 F]. But yes its still spring, everyone says just wit till feb! But we are excited just to be able to say that we walked around when it was 50C which would be about 133 [actually 122 F]. woohoo! A song comes to mind....... “ IM DIEING IN THE SUN, IM DIEING IN THE SUN!” : ) hahaha
Yesterday i had a humbling experience. We went to visit hernan. my comp was teaching him before i came but his wife has been in the hospital since i got here. Friday his wife passed away, so we went to see him yesterday. our hearts broke whenwe were with him, he was trying so hard not to cry as he was telling us when happened .but when he looked around his house and saw it empty he couldnt hold it in, becasue for him its empty, his house, his life and his heart. There isnt anything to fill the whole. i felt so insignificant trying to console a man who just lost his wife after 40+ years of marrage. But all i could do was testify that i know there is more. I know that it doesnt have to be the end. That we have a Father in Heaven who loves us, that He gave us His son to die for us and complete the demands of justice that we can return to our Father in Heaven, and even more, He loves us so much that He has given us His power on the earth today that marriage can go on forever. that it was restored on the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. That he will see his wife again, and the emptiness tht he feels will be filled with the love of his Savior. I know this is the gospel and love of Our Father and Savior Jesus Christ. I just wanted to do more for him, but i didnt know what else to do then just to testify and invite him to pray and read. It hurts, a kind of indescribable hurt to see people suffer and not be able to take away the pain, they have to find the peace themselves through faith in Jesus Christ. It is the only way. i love my Savior and i am thankful to know His love. i invite you to all share it with your friends and loved ones, family or friends that they wont have to suffer, that they too may know their savior and his love.
I love you all. I pray for you.
Con todo mi corazón , hermana hanson
