ok i thought mothers day was the 10 ( isnt it?). i can tell the mission is getting easier because i forgot it was so soon until you told me that i get to call. dont worry im still stoked to call but its not like it was at christmas time. today i had time and i realised i needed to look at the pics i have of my family. its true i miss everyone a ton but its not as hard to be away, its more natural to be on a mission and im enjoying the work. everyday is weird. like yesterday, started out awesome, we had 3 investigators at church, ya thats awesome for us, and sure 2 of them are going to get baptised. then after church was a downer then the afternoon was happy again. its weird how its always up and down, i said this to my comp, she told me it has to be like that so we can keep appriciating the ups and its true, the ups wouldnt feel so good if their wernt downs and thats life and the mission.
this is my second transfer with hermana petersen and we are working alot better together, not that we were bad together but for some reason we have just clicked together, we are both excited to work and she drives me at the downer moments.
so right now we are teaching julieta, i think ive already told about her she is 17, she wants to get baptised the 15 of may. she is awesome, i feel like we didnt do anything to "convert" her, she was just ready, she wanted to make the change in her life so she is doing it, we just showed her the way. like yesterday we passed by because we hadent made another apt. with her and we were on her street, so we go in and she is full of questions about her baptisim, and every time we answered her she was suprised at the answer but then accepted it with out question, we thought she would have a problem with tithing and we were dreading this lesson because of things she had said before but yesterday she asked about temples and how they are built, with what money. so then we had to randomly un-planned explained tithing, and she said "so when im older i have to pay?" we said no, when you earn money and she said ok. like it was no big deal. hahah its just funny, she is ready. then my comp told me that all through out her mission its been the same. we always feel we are here to change people, and we find people who need to change and we love them and they dont progress becasue they arent ready but we cant let go of them because we love them, and then we finaly drop them and the next week we find the person that was ready. its an act of faith on our part that there are still other people out there who have already been prepared and are ready to find the gospel and fallow it..... thats where the members come in! to help do the preparing, be examples ( julieta already has friends in the church who she didnt know were mormon, but now that she knows they are mormon wants to be baptised even more becasue she respects these people) share the simple testimony in every day life. so when the missionaries knock their door they will already be ready. its a change they make we are just here to give the spiritual nudges :)
im thankful for the bad days as well as the good, iv learned to be thankful for the things i have and the family that raised me. the mission is flying by and there is alot of work to be done. i gots ta pull the wees! as carli once put it. :) now everyone go hug the first person you see! love you all!
con amor hermana hanson
