Happy mothers day!
Ok a little late, but here yesterday was mothers day. I think its the only country on the american contenent that has a different day for it. But then again they have random holidays all the time, like teachers day and neighbors day and aunt and uncle day and friend day. Im totaly not kiding. So to all the mothers in my life, i love you and thank you for the influence you have had in my life.
This week went pretty fast but it just felt unproductive, i think we all that those days/weeks. But yesterday was better. We hit the road and made the goal to meet our gaols, haha. But it was sweet. We went to our apointment that we wernt sure about, but went anyway. Around the corner lives one of our investigators that we actually hadnt really´taught yet, she is 17 her name is cintia. We usually see her with her friend, but her firend is a little crazy and we never get to teach cuz they are just full of questions and kinds just want to be our friends cuz we are from the states, but we ran into cintia on the way and told her we would come back if our apt wasnt there. They wernt , so we went back. We were excited to be able to talk to her alone, and we had already asked her dad for permission to talk to her ( which is a new rule we have, but it seems like kindof a no brainer that we should have always been doing) her parents and evangelista, i honestly dont know what that is in english, but thay are pretty firm in their faith but are having a hard time with cintia cuz she is going through her rebelious phase, but she listens to us so they are fine with us talking to her. It started off kind of awkwardly but then we realised that we just needed to explain the preisthood with how the church was lost and restored witht he same priesthood and organization ( ok this is the basic lesson 1 but we didnt start teaching it, not sure why) but we taught and the spirit was there. She told us that she knows whats right and wrong but she still chooses the wrong, she says she just doenst feel it, she doesnt have the drive to do good when its easier to do bad. But she wants to find that drive. She wants to know the truth and why she should do it, not just because she knows its bad. She feels lost so she is looking for other means to fill the gaps. Our lesson was so awesome, we explained and testified of joseph smith. That he recieved this authority of God to restore the church and the spirit testified of it to her. We asked her if she wanted to know if it was true, all she said was yes,but her answer was so firm and full or determination and hope! so we asked her what joseph smith did to resiceve and answer, but she didnt remember so we read james 1:5 again and her eyes lit up and she started to laugh cuz she understood, but not cuz we told here, but she knew cuz she felt it, that she needed to pary and ask her father in heaven is it was true. She said she would and we invited her to do it right then. So she did, her prayer was one of the most simple i have ever heard, but it was prefect. It was a cold cloudy day but right when she finished, no joke, the sun came out. : ) it was awesome. And she was happy, she felt good. We teach this lesson so much but its not often that we get to see the excitement to truely know, because they have hope that its truw. I love it! I love seeing the spirit touch their hearts.
I know this is the only true gopsel and church of our father in heaven and His son jesus chirst. I love being able to share it with others. It might get hard but those moments are what keep me going. The hope it gives to others of happyness! It rocks.
This week was rainy and hot, a weird combination, my comp is still amazing and possitive, she is helping me on my possitivity, her advise is that everytime i have a negative thought i need to start thinking of things im thankful for. It totaly works. I am thankful for my companion, and my family, for hot water, bug spray, soap, washing machines, toilet seats, cell phones (when thay have credit) cars, and good shoes. And for the knowlege of my Father in Heaven and savior Jesus Christ.
I love you all. Con amor! Hermana hanson!
