so i didn't get to go to girls camp this year, but our sisters conference was awesome! it was like a mini girls camp. monday night we (all 26 of us) got together at the house of our president and ate tacos! real tacos, well real american tacos, haha then we had a testimony night, everyone shared. it was like bring back in the mtc or girls camp , where the spirit is so strong and all you want is a paper and a pen to remember all that you feel and hope that it expresses even the hint of what you feel. it helped me remember the amazing-ness of this work, that i'm insignificant compared to the reason i'm here.
then tuesday it was like our zone conferences where we learn, a lot of it was based on loving your comp, haha i think this transfer there has been problems with it, we too had our problems but after the conference we realized how dumb it is to have arguments because we don't agree
with our comp, cuz when we do we cant feel the Spirit and we cant teach, and this work is way to important to but ourselves first and give into the urge to fight. and we learned about charity, but we are doing so much better. its amazing. hna zavaleta is still my comp. and we are seeing a progress in the work when we decide to work together.
i wont lie i still have my moments when its just hard and i look forward to the day i go home, ( im a little ashamed to admit it) but then we have conferences or lessons like we had last night when i
remember the amazing opportunity i have to help people remember the love of Christ. its so easy to forget and im afraid to go home and forget, i love feeling it everyday.
yesterday we taught maria, her kids are members and she has been waiting about a year to make the decision to be baptized, she knows its true but her testimony isn't in the Book of Mormon or Jesus Christ, but i know she knows its true, i guess i just want them to understand
what i know but that takes time, it took me 22 years ( ya did you remember that im that old and i'll be 23 in 2 months? cuz i forgot!) but ya... we had a lesson about forgiveness, there is a lot in her life that she has to forgive herself for and right now she is filled with guilt and weighed down. she explained to us how she feels like her son doesn't love her, it was a weird lesson, but all i could think of is that i wanted her to understand that Jesus Christ went through the same and worse, she wanted us to make it better, but we cant. cuz our Savior can, He suffered more, everyday the people that He suffered for rejected him, He had more love for us then any parent and people still refuse to believe. how much harder is it for Him to suffer even still, than it is for her in this moment in her life. it was hard because she wasn't able to understand that when we put our faith in Jesus Christ He can help us through these things. the missionaries can only tell you what to do, but the faith comes when we trust in the Lord and search for His help. i know that He loves us and He gave His life for us.
there is so much more i want to write today but we got here late. i love you all and i hope all well.
with all my heart,
hermana hanson
