snowmen in july

yep thats right its snowed here! 3 days it snowed!!! luckly i know how to layer up, but for my comp who has never seen snow before in her life it was a little different :) she is from peru, that is her in the pic [below]. hermana zavaleta.

im still in palpala, jujuy. and this is the 2nd time in jujuy history that it has snowed, last year it was only for a few hours, but the times are changing! we played christmas music :)

this week we knocked alot of doors, we had to start over again cuz everyone we were teaching before has lost interest. its funny how that happens, i was joking with another hermana the other day and was comparing something to misionary work and the scripture that talks about how the field is white already to harvest, and thats how the people, but if you dont harvest in time it goes to waste. and it happens in the mission too, but thats why there are always new missionaries coming and going. i've learned that i'm always learning, haha, every time i get through a trial there is always another one waiting that will apply what i just learned. maybe its to help make the lesson stick, haha but i'm doing good. nothing that cant be solved through faith. when we have faith in Jesus Christ everything is better or easier,  we can feel that we aren't alone, we have hope that things will pass, that there is joy in the future and he will be waiting to bless us at the end of the road.

like i said it was a week of searching for new people and we did find some who are really cool and seem interested. but other who we just ended up helping with a bit of love. haha. yesterday was " poopy but bien" it started out meh cuz no one came to church and all of our appointments fell, which happens, but you just got to keep knockin', even when your hands are frozen and the gloves have to come off to clap. (seriously, thats the hardest part, taking off the gloves, if you want to go deep and use that as a metaphor go for it) but the last door we come too we knock and before i was praying to get in just cuz it was so cold, (i really was praying) so this girl with a 3 year old open the door and looks at us weird and says "do you want to come in" hahah, i testify to you this say that our Father in Heaven listens to our prayers, it is something so small but we had been knocking for 2 hours and no one would let us in. so we go in and it was weird cuz she didnt really want to talk to us she just wanted to be nice. but we started talking and i could feel that she needed to hear something, we were in that house to give a message, maybe not the Restoration and Joseph Smith but something, i listen to her but more i watched her with her daughter and i got bugged cuz there was resentment in her relationship with her daughter. so i started to teach about the Christ, (i think - ok really i dont really remember what i said) but it was about having the faith in Chrsit to make the best of the consequences that come from our decisions. that when we have faith we are happy, like what i was saying before. (that was my lesson for the week, that i learned.) she wasnt happy, there was alot more to it, but after she opened up to us and explained that she was going through stuff cuz she has made some bad decisions and what we said to her was what she needed to hear to help her fix it. it wasnt me it was the Spirit. and she isnt from here and wont change her beliefs but last night me and my companion were guided to a girl who needed to hear that she was loved by her Father in Heaven. it was a little miracle and one for us as well to be reminded that this work isnt just about progressing investigators but its about being called of God to do His work, whatever that may be.

thanks for your love, sometimes work gets hard, but it helps to be reminded that my family is being blessed for this time that i have here. i love my family!

enjoy the sun! and keep the faith!
lcon amor, hernama hanson
