hola familia!
i have no idea what day it is anymore, ok i do its p-day, but other then that not really, and i know thanksgiving is on thursday, we are celebrating it friday with the 2 zones in our area. pres nothcutt will be up and its a zone confrence, im excited.
dad asked why i never have time to write, haha its cuz we play in the worning and then have to come back and go grocery shopping and finish the laundry, and we start work again at 6.30. i shouold always write at this time, while i'm in el carmen, anyway.
its cool that mom found my town, its pretty small. i live in the center of town, by the really big park and the big catholic church :) thats fun, we hear the bells sunday mornings. this week thay had a big confirmation thing for all the 12yr boys in the town who are catholic, it was huge they have in once a year aso all our apt fell through cuz everyone was there, so we went and tried to contact around the park, that was interesting and really intimidating.
mom asked how my spanish is comming. this week its better, i've been able to understand alot more and then use what i have been learning, but its still not very good, really its normal conversations that are heard, but then sometimes i forget that i don't speak the same language as people, there are members of the branch i'm friends with now and i forget that we can't always communicate, it's weird. this week i also finally realized that i'm a missionary, my comp said it happens more than once, that you remember that we've been called of God to represent his son. this last weekend was crazy hot. i don't think i've ever sweat so much in my life. not kidding, and its not even full sumer yet.
mom wanted to know the bad stuff, haha ok, so i will humor her :) ( love you mom) last p-day we had a waterbaloon fight and i stepped on a bee and it stug my toe :) i have some crazy awesome/nasty bug bites that puss and i'm always sweaty :) but life is still good, i had a great day today, other then playing with our neighbor zones i got to see 4 members of my mtc district, 3 of them just finally got down to argentina after being sent somewhere else temperoraly, and they re in my zone! it was the next best thing so seeing family.
ok actually mission stories :)
this week we went to a funeral and a hospital, fun! we got a call saturday morning that a member's grandpa had died and they wanted us to go sing hyms at the viewing. ok way awkward to be lds missionaries at a catholic funeral thing, and the member wasn't there so we didn't know anyone at first, so we were standing outside and a lady came out to us and asked us if we were representitives from a church and we said yes, she said it didn't really matter what faith we were and that it would be comforting if we said something, so we said god be with you till we meet again and then both said some things. not gonna lie i cried a little, i was remembering grandpa. the thing was that i was super afraid to go in and just start talking to people because i didn't want to impose on there morning period, or something, not sure. but i prayed while we were out side and realized that that's what christ would have done, gone in and started teaching the plan of salvation to give them comfort and i was too afraid to do it, it was kind of disapointing to realize i need to be more brave, and i do there are alot of moments i pass up that i could be working harder. but we had the spirit and it was a cool experience.
the hospital was different, first of al there hospitals here are crazy and i'm thankfull for american medical care. but we met this girl and we taught her and when we talked about prayer she said God didn't listen, so we asked why she felt that and found out that her mom was in a hospital because she only had one kidney and the other one was failing, sad i know. so we asked her if she would be interested in a priesthood blessing, so the next day we sent to the hospital to visit her mom and talk to her about it, we gave her a lesson and explained the priesthood and how they only work through faith. she said she was catholic and only realy interested for her daughter's sake ( because this would be good for her daughter's faith and lately she has been kind of rebellious) and would read what we left her and think about it and call. but the funny part is that her daughter is only interested in it to help her mom, so they are both searching for a faith to help eathother. its kinda cool. we are hoping we get a call, i think we have another apt with the daughter.
we have one investigator who is awesome, everytime we tell her about a commandment she is fine with it, her name is soledad and has a little boy named santi (santiago) who totally reminds me of jacob, hes 6 and super smart. alot of her faith comes from him, he makes her read the book of mormon to him and he remembers everything! but he will be bummed when we explain that he can't get baptized too :)
ok about the packages if they don't open it then i dont have to pay as much so if you write dulce on it they shouldn't open it. packages take like a month or 2 to get here, hahaha. and i got the dear elders but those take like 2 weeks to get here so they work but email is the best. ok
i love you all.
polly - we work our every morning! i make my comp do all kinda of workouts but i want new ones im bored. we have stairs and a big open room and folding chairs, help me out :) i think im in better shape now then when i left.
oh so the meals here go like this, tiny breakfast. bigger then thanksgiving dinner size lunch wich is mostly rice and potatoes and some meat and then no dinner, or maybe fruit if we happen to have it with us or cereal right when we get back. :) thats my life.
oh hahaha you will think this is funny, it is kitten and puppy season here and they are everywhere so i still get to play with them, my comp laughs at me because i always stop to look at them.
ok for reals now! i love you all!!!! thank you for your prayers!
