hola familia!
whats new? not a whole lot down here, im getting tanner, but just my face and arms, haha.
this was a good week, the last week was kinda tough with my first full week with my new comp. we started it out doing divisions with the hermanas in san pedro, tuesday i was with one and wednesday with another, they are both awesome and know what they are doing and have super strong testimonies, it was good for me to remember what im doing and how to do it. it took away the stress of training. then with my comp we hit the road and worked this week, it was great, we found a bunch of new people to teach and my comp is getting more daring with her usage of spanish. so we are doing good. we are learning how to work together and work hard.
we are alwyas looking and finding more people to teach but its always hard to get them progressing, whats why we always have to find more, but durning all this we have still been teaching jorge. the 20yr old whos mom and siblings are members but he never wanted it before. it is doing good. he is actually changing and its because he knows its right. this past week we taught the commandment keep the sabbath day holy. and he was ok with it, but he knew it would be hard because thats when all his friends go out, its hard because he had to change to much of who he was, which depends alot on his friends but he is willing to do it becasue he knows its true, everytime we teach him something new he is a little reluctant to accept it but then we says he will pray to know, and he does and he finds the strnegth to change. it is absolutly amazing to see this change happen in someone else , and to know that i at least get to encourage him along the way.
my comp helped me realize something cool the other day, we were in a lesson with jorge and it was having a hard time with all the changes in his life and just needed some spiritual support, i was all worries for him at the time but my comp was totally happy, almost giddy, i thought she didnt understand but after when i talked to her she did. but she explained that she was happy becasue he was sad, ( hahaha) but really because he is sad becasue he is going through a trial, but that means that it will be an oppertunity to grow stronger and find his strength in the lord, that the lord is testing him because the adversary wants him and his testimony will grow. its the evidence that he is changing and that these things are important to him. his baptisim is scheduled for this saturday, the 22. wooohooo!
it was a new way for my to look at it, this happens alot. our investigators often have to make big life changes but its these trails that help them have a testimony so they are actually blessings. i guess that true about our lives too. i guess the next big trial that comes along il try to remember this and laugh it off and be thankfull that the lord trusts me enough to give me the trail cuz he knows that i will be stronger afterwards. thats some food for thought.
i know that our Father will never give us something more then we can handle, its just our next step in life, its our time to grow and the only growth comes through a little big of pain, ok really everything in life is like that, just watch the babies [cut] teeth. thats awesome that we are given opportunities to become more like our Father in Heaven, and its only through the hard times that we will get there.
im thankful for the hard times, and im thankfull for my comp, she is great.
i love you all
have a great week and welcome those trials with happy hearts, the only way to go is up.
con amor! hermana hanson
