another week

hola familia. this week flew by and im not really sure what we did, it just went by really fast. we are working with people who need to get married, right now lidia and her partner (boy friend) mario, we havent actually taught him yet cuz he is never there, but she tells him what we teach her and now they are talking about marriage yay. he went to church this sunday and it was awesome, our gospel principles teacher is awesome, and inspired, this week we talked about eternal families and the law of chastity, yep just when we had been planning on teaching mario, if we ever get a chance to teach him, but lidia told us after that he really liked it and agrees with the things we teach, so they are making progress. its different to watch the faces of people here when we teach the law of chastity because its something that they have never been taught or thought about, when we teach it its like, oooooh, that makes sense.

so that was yesterday, but before this lesson we went to our other lessons and when we got there they were all out side, their puppy had got out, ( i love this dog!, his name is obito) so they were out looking for him, so we helped cuz all of our other lessons had fallen through, i would love to tell you that we found him, but we didnt, but we did teach them to pray and ask for help. they are recient converts to the church and have faith , but were really upset/ mad and didnt want to , but we made them do it anyway, :) at least the mood changed and then we all went out to look some more. still didnt find him, but i have hope. it made me sad though, and i remembered all the puppies i have lost, its not a fun experience!

yep mom i already knew jeff was engaged, mwahhaha, i made him ask her to write me a letter so i could get to know her, she seems awesome and great for jeff so im happy for them. i knew it would happen while i was away. now the fam has to get to know her and give her a nick name for the next time the hawks come over :) for 4th of july or something, hey thats coming up. wow. and the trip to bullards bay, wont be the same with out the boat boy/ girl, but dont forget to bring the ROLOS!

bueno,  so this week im not allowed to speak english, we are having an english fast to see if the work or our investigators change, so i need to start looking for differences, sometimes i think in spanish but not that often, i usualy just want to say phrases in english but the way you would say it in spanish, if that makes sense. my comp is doing great, its weird to see her go through some of the struggles i remember going through when i first started the mission and help her through them, makes me realize that im growing, a little :)

im working on my patience, i might of told you that last week but thats cuz im still working on it :) but sometimes its good to do things fast! hahaha.

so we visit lots of members who are inactive, but sometimes we know what we will teach and dont plan it out exactly, leaves room for the spirit to help out, most of the time, :) but this time it did, and this week my favorite example that i taught but didnt plan was about the brother of jared, not the part your thinking of. his story starts with jared his brother telling him to pray to ask God to not confound their language, ( why did jared have to tell him to ask) but he had more faith then jared. then when the brother had already been guided by the lord and had experiences to strengthen his faith, they were led to the coast and did nothing for 3 years ( i think) then the Lord reprimands him, and says, why didnt you pray? you have been sitting here wasting time for 3 years, why did you forget to pray and ask me that you should do?  now this is the brother of jared, who has the most faith of anyone in this time that he is able to see Jesus Christ before he has ever came to the earth. it is because he forgot, he got caught up in life and forgot to pray, ( this is my interpretation) but then he repents and prays and the Lord gives him guidance again. but how many times do we forget to pray? in the every day life and work and kids and school, how much time do we waste not doing what we should be, or receiving the guidance that we need because we forget to pray. on the mission, ok up till now, i have experienced the power of prayer, i know our Father in Heaven is listening and is there to help us when we ask for it. i love this gospel, i love that i learn from it every day. its hard but the work must be done and im honored to be chosen to serve.

i love you all and i hope your week is full of happyness and joyness
:)
 and dont forget to pray.

love hermana hanson, aka. jo
