Happy New Year!

It's funny that there has been storms there [in CA], i think they came my way :) actually we have one about every week, but right now it's raining pretty hard and the streets are starting to flood a little, not a ton just enough to have wet feet. And what do we do when it rains you ask? The same thing we do everyday. We just bring our jackets :)
So you would think people would be more willing to accept messengers of Christ on his birthday, ya nope. :) The rest of Christmas day wasn't that effective, but Sunday was good. We had a dog find its way into the chapel during sacrament, that was a first, which is weird because we actually have a church building and a fence. I think a kid let it in, but thats Argentina, haha.
It was good to talk to everyone, sorry it cut out at the end, I had a little left on my other calling card and I was tempted to call back just to say bye but I figured that was cheating :)
On the 25th all the missionaries in Jujuy sang to a hospital, it was pretty cool. We were 40 in all, so at the end we just stood in the middle which was out side in a little court yard thing and sang all together. I love the power of missionaries, haha. It was a nice spiritual moment.
For New Year's Eve, we are going to the same sister's house we went to for the 24 so we will be off the streets a little earlier then normal. It supposed to be worst than Christmas Eve. And then the same group of us will be singing to an orphanage on the 1st, in the morning.
So yesterday was a good day, really Mondays are always good days, not sure why they just are. Which is weird cuz at home Mondays are the worst. Haha.
So in the morning we saw Nancy. She is doing awesome. The last time we saw her we weren't so sure, she had doubts about her baptism. Like there were things in her past that she didn't feel she was worhty of being baptized. So we gave her alma 36, where alma is telling his conversion story to his son. When we saw her yesterday she had read it and understood it. She didn't see if it had effected her but there was a definite difference in her countenance. She was happy and then then randomly said she was going to visit her friend later that day who she hadn't seen in a while. It was random so I figured there was something about this friend that had to do with the alma scripture. Turns out she is going to apologize, not sure what for but she felt like she had to see him and right any wrongs before she could be baptized. She wanted to do the same with her dad but she was afriad to talk to him. It was amazing to see this difference in her, she is changing her life and fixing anything now so when she is baptized she will be able to feel truly clean. Ahh she is awesome. I might have gotten a little teary when talking with her, hah. It was so cool to feel our Father in Heaven's love for her at that moment. That she was willing to do what she needed to do to follow Christ.
That made up for the not so happy weekend. It was a good refresher, we have so many investigators who are not progressing, don't read or pray or attend church. I get that its different for them and its hard to start new habits, but it's also hard to see people get a spark of the gospel and not do anything to keep it burning. It's like lighting a match in the dark and they can see for a second but don't give it fuel in time to get the fire started, (yep just made that one up, I love analogies) but now Nancy has a fire :)
have you realized that the gospel can be compared to anything in this life? It's fun, so days we try to apply our starter conversations to what ever the person is doing at the moment, so far my favorite has been when a girl when was on her way to buy ice cream, haha it kinda worked but now I'm always craving strawberry ice cream :)
Yesterday we taught Andres, he is this big muscularly dude, the one who has a daughter who he calls skinny. He looks like he would be a tough biker dude, but he's really not. It's kinda funny. So we taught him yesterday, it had been a little while since we taught him. He came to church randomly, that was cool, said he woke up and had the feeling to come.
So when we taught him yesterday his Jehovah's Witness x-girlfriend and mother of his 2 sons was there, this was the first time we had taught a JW. Wasn't too bad with contradicting scriptures but there were a couple of times she had input on when we were saying, but it's ok. He doesn't like her so her dislike of our church would probably make him like us more. We were teaching lesson 2 about the play on salvation, so we got to this life and talked about baptism when she left the room. We kept the 2nd half for next time when she's not there. It was harder for me just cause I had no idea what point she was trying to prove with the scriptures she would pull out. But my comp handled it nicely. :)
It's good to hear Christmas was a good one, sorry I didn't get to Michael and Erinnnn, it was nice to hear voices of my loved ones. My family is awesome, thanks for the support and have a happy and fun new year, wow, I will be gone for all of 2010, weird, haha, see you in 20 11.
Love hermana hanson!
